Was it just me? But I was amazed and intrigued by Sandra Bullocks hair at the recent Golden Globe awards show. My first thought is that this style was a longer version of the style she wore in one of her first movies called Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone, anyone remember that? She wore bangs with a short boob and made us all want to go out and have our hair cut! Now many years later this longer version with fringed edges makes her look youthful and striking! what is it about bangs that gives a woman a more youthful or younger appearance?

Along with making a stunning appearance at the awards show and looking better than ever she was modeling the new look for spring – summer 2011…the “minimalist look” which is straight hair with fringed ends and can be worn with or with out bangs. I personally like the contrast of full straight cut bangs with the straight hair what ever length ending with fringed end.

Just like the fashion industry the hair styling industry likes to come out with new and fresh styles for each new season. This fall-winter season the style was straight and full on top and crown area then large soft spiral curls. This is a flattering and romantic look that is classic and will always be “in” for the right occasion which can be achieved with Hot Set Rollers or Specialty Curling Irons and large round brush.

It is always best to use anti-static blow dryer for the least freeze and maximum amount of control over your hair when you are drying it. And here is a tip: for more volume when drying, turn your hair up side down till almost dry then head up blow from front to back.  Just before your hair cools of take a round brush and use brush and blow dryer to set height and increased volume in the crown area. To finish this look use a Flat Iron to smooth, straighten and slightly tip the ends up for this great carefree wispy look.
